The nursery "Agromedžik" has, over its 50-year history, grown into one of the nurseries with the largest selection of certified planting material from its own production in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We produce more than 250,000 fruit tree and grapevine seedlings annually, as well as the same number of rootstocks.
We own our own mother plantations of both vegetative and generative types, as well as scion (fruit bud) orchards, thus covering the entire process from rootstock and bud production to the finished seedling.
As an agricultural estate, "Slavko Čolić Nursery" was founded in 1990, but the beginnings of the family business date back to 1961, when the Čolić family, in the village of Konjuh (near Kruševac), started with the first modest production and sale of grapevine grafts and fruit seedlings. The village of Konjuh is well known as the cradle of grafting, not only in Serbia but also across the former Yugoslavia. With the registration of entrepreneurship, the nursery "Agromedžik" became one of only three companies in the Kruševac region registered for the production of certified seedlings.
Soon, with the steady growth in demand for our seedlings—which also required the constant growth and expansion of production capacities—during the 1990s, the first exports and sales took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other neighboring countries. Due to its favorable geostrategic location, excellent soil quality, and many administrative advantages, in 2009 we decided to relocate most of our production to Gornje Crnjelovo near Bijeljina, where we are still based today.
The continuous expansion of production required important family decisions and significant investment. In 2016, the construction of a large business facility in Gornje Crnjelovo began, and was completed in 2018. This building represents a reflection of the successful work of the Čolić family. Investments continued the following year with the purchase of the most modern seedling-harvesting machine, the Lauwers Boro XD, which further accelerated the harvesting and delivery process.
In the following years, the range of planting material was expanded with rose seedlings, ornamental trees, and exotic fruits. In production, we use exclusively certified propagation material from fruit-growing institutes in the region, with a focus on domestic varieties as well as modern selections of varieties and rootstocks adapted to local soil and climate conditions. By ideally combining modern technology in planting material production with a tradition of over fifty years of experience, the products of the "Agromedžik" nursery have reached the highest quality.
We are proud to offer more than 250 varieties of different fruit species, including a wide selection of the latest resistant varieties for intensive orchards, as well as a broad assortment of varieties suitable for home gardens and yards. We sell only healthy and certified planting material, which is the first and most important condition for fruit trees to bear regularly and abundantly.
Currently, the "Agromedžik" nursery owns more than 12 hectares of land adapted for the production of planting material. With our long-standing experience in seedling production, we are focused on new knowledge and agricultural techniques in nursery production.
With our own storage capacities, in-house production and packaging of seedlings ensure fast delivery to customers with minimal handling, thus maintaining the maximum quality of seedlings. By performing all operations ourselves, we shorten the time between production and delivery, and minimize handling of seedlings, which greatly contributes to maintaining the quality of planting material.
We are proud of the fact that many fruit plantations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region were established with our seedlings and with our professional support, and that many city squares, gardens, hotels, and other spaces have been landscaped with our planting material.
